Slingerz FC firmly in control of GFF Elite League title race

Slingerz FC is on a dominant run in the Elite League. They’re currently the only undefeated team in the league.
Kaieteur Sports – Slingerz FC continue to set the pace in the Guyana Football Federation’s Elite League, sitting comfortably at the top of the table with 37 points from 13 matches.
The West Demerara powerhouse remain the only undefeated side in the competition, boasting 12 wins and one draw, with a remarkable 76 goals scored and just three conceded for a staggering +73 goal difference.
Slingerz FC continued their dominant run in the Elite League on Sunday, delivering a commanding 7–0 victory over Santos FC.
The Jamaal Shabazz-coached side took a 5–0 lead at halftime, with Darron Niles stealing the spotlight by netting four times (7’, 31’, 34’, 38’).
Kelsey Benjamin added another in first-half stoppage time (45’+3’) to put Slingerz FC full control.
Santos’ misery deepened in the second half when Shemar Dublin turned the ball into his own net in the 61st minute, before National U17 defender Michael Johnson celebrated his first Elite League goal in the 88th minute to cap off the rout.
Meanwhile, trailing Slingerz FC in second place are Western Tigers FC, who climbed into the runner-up spot with 30 points from 14 outings.
Unfortunately, the struggling Mainstay Goldstar were a no-show on Sunday, handing Western Tigers three points via walkover.
Darron Niles bagged four goals for Slingerz FC in their 7 – 0 win over Santos FC.
However, despite their consistency, the Tigers remain seven points adrift of the league leaders, having registered nine wins, three draws, and two losses.
Guyana Police Force FC, who slipped to third place, have 27 points but with two games in hand.
Their record of eight wins, three draws, and one loss underscores their challenge for a top-three finish, particularly with a healthy +30 goal difference.
Meanwhile, defending champions Guyana Defence Force FC (GDF) occupy fourth place on 22 points from 11 matches.
The army unit has won seven games but dropped points in three losses, though their +40 goal difference reflects their attacking strength.
Mid-table remains highly competitive, with Santos FC and Monedderlust FC level on 16 points, separated only by goal difference. Santos’ goal difference of +3 sees them ahead, while Monedderlust languish on -12.
Further down, Ann’s Grove United FC sit on 13 points, followed closely by Den Amstel FC on 12, while traditional contenders Fruta Conquerors FC find themselves struggling in ninth with just 9 points from 12 games.
At the foot of the table, Mainstay Goldstar FC have endured a nightmare campaign.
The Essequibo-based side have lost all 13 of their matches, conceding a staggering 129 goals while scoring just six, leaving them with a goal difference of -123 and -3 points due to penalties.
With just a few rounds left to play, the title race remains firmly in Slingerz FC’s hands.
Their dominance, particularly in attack, has set them apart from the competition, and they appear primed to lift their second Elite League trophy if their form continues.
