Layne replaces injured Forde in West Indies squad for Pakistan ODIs
West Indies Academy pacer Johann Layne has been drafted into the West Indies squad for the ODI series against Pakistan.
SportsMax – West Indies Academy pacer Johann Layne has been drafted into the West Indies squad for the three-match One-Day International series against Pakistan beginning on Friday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
Layne is replacing all-rounder Matthew Forde who suffered a dislocated shoulder during a training session on Wednesday.
Layne has a record of 13 wickets in 12 List A matches and was a member of the West Indies Under-19 squad at the 2022 ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2022.
He recently earned his first call-up to the West Indies Test squad for the three matches against Australia in July.
The updated squad is as follows: Shai Hope (Captain), Jewel Andrew, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Johann Layne, Justin Greaves, Amir Jangoo, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd.
