Kaieteur News- Two Guyanese influencers were released on $250,000 bail each on Tuesday after encouraging two women to fight.
The accused, 35-year-old Bradley Sampson, also known as ‘Doggie’ of Lot 52 South Ally, Norton Street, Lodge, and 34-year-old Rahayanna Goring, aka ‘Fatta’ of Lot 78 Vigilance, East Coast Demerara (ECD), both appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ court before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
Sampson and Goring were not required to plead to the charge, which alleged that on May 25, 2025, at the Square of Revolution in Georgetown, they incited Shanella Holder and Malika Lewis, also known as ‘Farren Dolly’, to commit a felony.
The prosecution told the court that the matter initially started with Holder and Lewis, who had an ongoing misunderstanding. On the day in question, the two defendants, who are known to each other, were on separate Facebook live videos encouraging persons to assemble at the Square of Revolution for a public fight between Holder and Lewis.
They added that as a result of Sampson’s and Goring’s actions, an approximate number of 200-300 persons assembled at the location. The defendants were further seen encouraging the two women to fight, which subsequently happened.
“The Police Force was contacted due to the crowd being uncontrollable and ranks discharged several rubber pellets,” the prosecution said.
They also objected to bail due to the serious nature of the offence and concern for public safety.
Sampson was represented by attorney Ronald Bostwick, while Goering was represented by attorney Casside Nurse.
Bostwick requested bail on behalf of his client since the file was not ready. He said Sampson is a businessman, and if remanded, his business will be affected.
Meanwhile, Nurse told the court that her client is a mother of two minor children who solely depend on her care. She added that her client is not a flight risk and that there are video clips displaying that her client was encouraging the two ladies not to fight.
Magistrate Azore granted Sampson and Goring bail and advised them to be mindful when posting on social media. Sampson was required to lodge his passport with the court.
The matter was adjourned to June 30, 2025.
