(Kaieteur News) – Police in Regional Division # 6 are investigating the discovery of a quantity of ammunition which was found on Monday June 1, 2026 about 11:45hrs, during an operation conducted at High Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
According to a police release, enquiries revealed that ranks, acting on information received, went to the home of a 28-year-old construction worker of High Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, where a search was conducted in his presence.
During the search, ranks found a black haversack containing one 9mm round and nine .223 rounds of ammunition.
The suspect was arrested and escorted to the Central Police Station along with the ammunition which was lodged.
The suspect remains in police custody assisting with investigations.
Investigations are ongoing.
