Number of sponsors on board for Blairmont Community Centre Independence Cricket festival and Day of sports
-Fixtures set final to be played under floodlights
Kaieteur Sports- A number of sponsors have finalized their sponsorship for the inaugural Blairmont Community Centre Independence Cricket festival and Day of sports.
The day’s activity, which will have cricket and a number of other sporting events, is set for Sunday 25th May at the Club facilities, Blairmont, West Bank, Berbice.
Coordinator Shabeer Baksh at right receives sponsorship from a representative of the fitness Gym.
The competition will be known as the inaugural Floodlight Independence Cup -Doomsday- 100Balls cricket and Festival. It is expected to get started at 09:30 hrs. A reserve day is set for Monday 26th May 2025.
Among the sponsors are -Money Mobile Guyana (MMG), Vickram Singh and Son Construction Services, JS Engineering Service and Supply, Millat Sporting Goods, A Allys and Sons, Marvan Prashad, Nick Nowrangalall, Clifton Mc Donald, Thomas McDonald, Derick Narine, Zamin Khan and Nadesh Basdeo.
Ricky & Sons Business Establishment, (TTT) Singh Travel Service, Keebie Arts, Hassan Bakery, Arshad Jewellery, Green Massive, Mr Rex, Green for life Gym and Plant Shop, MSB Complex, Rickey Barber Shop, Mark and Nimala Tyre Shop, Ravin Welding & Fabrication, SP Fitness, Anthony Tony, Nick Ramsaroop, Team Elevate, Mr T, Baksh Travel Service, Big Yard Wash Bay, Shawn Pereira Clothing and Big B’s Restaurants.
The teams expected to take part in the day activity are -Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC), Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Cotton Tree Cricket Club (Die Hard), Young Warriors, West Berbice Superkings and the home team Blairmont Blazers.
The fixture has been drawn and shows – West Berbice Superkings versus Albion CCC, Cotton Tree Die Hard playing GCC and game 3 will be between Blairmont Blazers and Young Warriors. The winners will advance while the losers will be knocked out.
A Representative of Singh Travel Service hands over sponsorship to one of the organisers.
A halftime show is also on the cards featuring four-time Chutney king Bunty Singh and others.
The final will be played after the halftime show. There will be live commentary.
Other attractions on the day will include a Domino Competition, 3/side Volleyball, Horseback Riding, Cartoon Character Walk Around.
There will be exposition booths of the sponsors Goods and Services.
Lucky fans will receive autographed Amazon Warriors Shirts by National and West Indies player Gudakesh Motie. (Samuel Whyte)
