Kaieteur News – So entertaining was Link Show 36, which was held at the National Cultural Centre from July 1 – 4th, that its producers are now being forced to repeat the dramatic presentation.
The show’s Co-Producer, Gem Madhoo-Nascimento, excitedly told The Waterfalls, “We are doing a rerun on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17, tickets are $2500 and $2000.”
Madhoo-Nascimento and Director Ron Robinson were able to assemble a cast consisting of 20 plus seasoned actors – many old timers and a few new faces – for the show.
In the line-up are: Mark Kazim, Mark Luke Edwards, Sean Thompson, Sean Budnah, Paul Budnah, Stephen Asif Mohamed, Lee Leung, Rovindra Persaud, Travis McKenzie, Carlvin Burnett and veteran link show actor from 1981 – Andre Wiltshire, alongside Sonia Yarde, Simone Dowding, Sheron Cadogan-Taylor, Makini Thompson, Marissa Morgan, Alicia Charles and new comer to the Link Show, La Tisha DaSilva.
Team Mohamed is in support of the Theatre Company and GEMS Theatre Productions’ Link Show 36, and encourages persons to get their tickets early from the National Cultural Centre.
Showtime is 20.00hours and patrons are asked to wear mask and sanitise as often as possible.
The Link Show, which started in November 1981, and has missed a few years during its 41-year life span, is now in its 36th production.
It is the longest running theatrical production and has unreservedly attracted the largest theatre audience in Guyana’s history, with Link Show 25 running for 16 performances in the 2000-seat National Cultural Centre and nine regional performances in Berbice, Linden and Essequibo.
