(Kaieteur News) – A 37-year-old bodywork technician was on Saturday shot and robbed at his Delph Street, Campbellville, Georgetown home by a lone gunman.
The police in a report stated that the incident occurred just after midnight when the victim was in his yard talking with another man when a lone male entered the yard, pointed a firearm at him and snatched “a yellow metal chain” he was wearing at the time.
“The victim and the suspect subsequently became involved in a scuffle, during which the suspect discharged a round, which struck the victim on the left side of his chest. The suspect then ran out of the yard, heading south along Delph Street, and made good his escape,” the police said in its report.
The victim was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, by residents where he was examined by a doctor and admitted. Kaieteur News understands that the man’s condition is listed as stable.
Meanwhile, police found a 9mm spent shell at the scene. CCTV cameras were observed and will be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
