Gabriel Lim is now Guyana’s junior National Javelin record holder following a good performance at the Jamaica Athletics Association (JAAA) 2022 All-Comers Track and Field Meet.
Lim finished fourth overall in the Men’s Javelin throw with an attempt of 57.54m to eclipse the previous National mark of 57.31m set by Linden’s Joshua Tappin.
Competing at Jamaica National Stadium, Lim had throws of 44.94m, 49.77m and 56.40m, coupled with two fouls in the line-up alongside his best attempt.
The top finishers in the event were Elvis Graham (74.34), Orlando Thomas (66.66) and Dorian Charles (62.70).
Lim, who competes for Jamaica College, also has Guyana’s junior National Discus record under his belt with a distance of 46.58m. He also bettered the previous record holder, Tappin, who had a mark of 40m set.
