Kaieteur News – Police and Everest CC were in commanding position in their respective matches when the Georgetown Cricket Association Noble House Sea Foods second division two-day tournament continued yesterday.
At Eve Leary, Police scored 170, taking first strike. Opener Kevin Christian made 60, Trevor Benn scored 21, Ameer Mohamed 17, Kyle Michael 15 and Paul Tyndall 14. Christian and Michael added 50 for the second wicket after Police lost opener Tyndall for 14 caught off Royston Gill. Christian put on another useful stand of 48 for the third wicket with Mohamed before he was taken off Michael Mc Almont. Mc Almont grabbed 5-34 while Rickford Mohamed claimed 3-27.
In reply, Diplomats were 99-9 at stumps. Nigel Simpson made 30, while Derrick Bobb scored 26 and Gill 23. Rocky Hutson has so far taken six wickets and Mohamed two.
At Everest, the home team took first strike and posted 252-5 declared. Ronaldo Renee struck 82 while Troy Gonsalves scored 55, Usherdeva Balgobin made 52 not out and Dwayne Adams 44. M. Jeenarine took two wickets. Bel Air were 45-5 in response. Gonsalves has taken two wickets so far. Action continues today.
