Kaieteur News – One man is now dead and a wounded suspect is on the run following a “stab out” on Friday at Pedymachi Black Water Backdam, located along the Cuyuni River, Region Seven.
Dead is Randolph Semple, a resident of Third Avenue, Bartica.
According to police he was killed around 18:00Hrs by a Brazilian who he allegedly stabbed first.
Based on police investigations, Semple was at a shop when he saw the suspect on the road sitting on a motorcycle.
Semple reportedly walked up to the man and stabbed him to the back and ran away into a nearby shop. The suspect jumped off the motorcycle, armed himself with a knife and followed Semple.
He entered the shop where Semple was and stabbed him to the chest before escaping. Semple, investigators were told, exited the shop and walked at least 400 feet away before collapsing on the road.
Onlookers reported the incident to the police who entered the area some time later to investigate. The body was removed and is currently on its way to Parika where it will then be transported to a morgue.
Meanwhile, a team of officers have remained behind to continue investigations and locate the wounded suspect who is still on the run.
