Bibi Habida Yakub of Johanna North, Black Bush Polder appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Mibicuri Magistrate’s Court.
The case for the prosecution was that, acting on information, the police went to the woman’s home and conducted a search. During the search, they found two plastic bottles concealed in a gas stove.
Upon examination of the bottles which were marked ‘Boom Energy Drink’, police ranks found several foil wrappings which contained what appears to be leaves, seeds and stems of the cannabis sativa plant.
The woman was told of the offence and taken into custody. The substance was tested and weighed. It was found to be 65 grams of marijuana.
She pleaded guilty and was fined $30,000, or three weeks in jail.
