Albion Community Center Cricket Club continued their good showing on the cricket field from last year when they defeated Port Mourant Community Centre by 8 wickets to advance to the final of the Ramnaresh Sarwan Under-17 50 Overs Cricket Competition.
The tournament, which is sponsored by former West Indies Captain Ramnaresh Sarwan, is being organised by The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) for U17 teams in the Ancient County.
The semifinal game which was played on Saturday at the Albion Community Centre Ground saw Port Mourant winning the toss and electing to take first strike in a match which was reduced to 40 Overs due to rain. They were restricted to 82 for 8 in their allotted overs with Salon Khan making 19.
Bowling for Albion, Left-arm-spinner Inzam Shazam took 4 wickets.
Albion responded with 84 for 2 off 13 overs with Hemendra Gurdyal leading the way with 28, while Naresh Veerasammy made 18.
