Achiever’s Youth and Sports Club Essequibo tour rescheduled
The Achiever’s Youth and Sports Club of West Coast Berbice has rescheduled its visit to the Essequibo Coast for later this month; the trip was originally set for August 16-18, but due to the inclement weather, the tour will now commence on August 30 and conclude on September 2.

The club has been invited by the Young Guns Sports Club which is coached by Forbes Daniels.
The trip will be the first for the club to Essequibo since it was founded by David Black on July 27, 1997. The visit will also coincide with the club’s 22nd Anniversary celebrations.
Mr. Black, who is also the President of the organisation and hails from the Essequibo, said they are looking forward to the trip which will give the youths an opportunity to showcase their talent and help them to play on various surfaces.
He said that such arrangements by clubs locally will help coaches to indentify talent at an early stage and they can also pinpoint areas that players need to work on. Black added that the tour will help in the development of the game on the Essequibo Coast and gives the players there much needed exposure. He expressed gratitude to the Essequibo club for extending the invitation.
Young Achiever’s Sports Club will be playing three 25 overs matches at the U19 level for the President’s Challenge Trophy. Those set to make the trip are; Shamal Angel, Collis Noble, Budram Lakeram , Darius Joseph , Kevin Sinclair, Jayden Samuel, Odel Miller, Azoomah Alfred, Shelton Ramsay, Vickash Singh, Kayambu Small, Chris Daniels, Ayinde Rogers, Saqlain McAlmon, Darius Joseph, Renata Liverpool and Giea Isaac. Sherwin McPherson is the Coach and the Manager is Black.
Meanwhile, the Young Guns Sports Club which is based in Zorg, one week camp is currently underway. According the Coach Daniels, the club will be hosting New Opportunity Corps in two 20-over matches as part of their preparation for their fixtures against Young Achiever’s.
