The Guyana Carnival yesterday hosted a Carnival Market which advertised articles on sale for the festive season.
The event was hosted all day yesterday at the Umana Yana. A number of private individuals took the opportunity to put their products on display for Guyanese to purchase and become aware of what they have been manufacturing in their own little country.
On display were handmade accessories, costumes and clothing for the occasion. There were wired bras with bright and colourful feathers attached to them. Some of the bras were also adorned with beads.
Adhesive rhinestones were among the products displayed for persons who are looking to have every part of their body scream carnival.
For the ladies who may have a hard time to control their hair, manufacturers of natural hair products also came out to support them. One of such persons was Denisha Victor from ‘Koko’ with her hair wax.
The hair wax is not only used to create that perfect style to keep in place but also works as a hair coloring.
The Rupununi Essence brought their luxury Facial cleanser for individuals who are prepared for fun in the sun and the ultimate j’ouvert experience.
Massy Stores did not forget persons who needed their vitamins to keep up with every event. They also walked along with nutrients to get rid of any aches and pains that may come after.
Guyana Carnival is a privately-sponsored festival in Guyana, between May 17 and May 27. This idea was birthed out of Guyana’s 50 Independence celebrations in 2016 when the country recorded thousands of arrivals of visitors to Guyana.
The main aim of Guyana Carnival is to expand tourism and show Guyana’s beauty, uniqueness, and unity.
