The stage is set for the New Era Entertainment (NEE) Domino and Duck Curry competitions today, Labour Day, which is part of the Guyana Carnival activities at Shanghai’s Residence in Amelia’s Ward, Linden, with games hitting off from 13:00hrs.
The Judges for the Duck Curry competition are Bert Wilkinson, Stan Gouviea, Natasha Hilaire and Dr. Vincent Adams.
The Domino competition that is expected to see teams from all over Guyana competing in the four game – six sitting competition, will dole out over $500,000 to the top teams.
In a release to the media, the organisers noted that Bakewell will be putting up prizes for lucky fans at the event that will be inclusive of home appliances.
At stake in the Domino competition is a first prize of $300,000, second $150,000 and third $75,000. Contact can be made with the organisers on 669-2014 and or 691-5460 or Mark Jumbie Wiltshire on 665-5855 for registration forms which will attract a $15,000 fee.
The action today promises to be keen with a number of the leading domino players and teams along with the top Duck Curry cooks heading to the mining town for a fun filled day which will see music being taken care of by popular DJ’s Akelo and Fearless.
Chief brand products, DDL under their Soca soft drink brand and Ansa McAl through their Stag Beer are others lending support.
