One Guyana Softball Cricket Knockout returns for Third Year
– Kwakwani to host Mega Tournament
Kaieteur Sports – With the highly anticipated bowl-off just weeks away, organisers of the 3rd Annual ‘One Guyana’ Male and Female Softball Cricket Knockout tournament have officially unveiled the full line-up and prize structure for what promises to be the biggest edition yet.

The tournament, which bowls off on July 25 and runs until August 23, will this year take place in the Kwakwani region, bringing top-tier softball action to one of Guyana’s most passionate sporting communities. The announcement was made yesterday during the championship’s official launch, setting the stage for a month of electrifying competition.
A staggering $4 million in cash prizes will be up for grabs, attracting some of the strongest softball teams from across the country. The tournament will feature a balanced draw of teams – 13 male and 13 female – all vying for glory and a share of the record-breaking prize pool.

In the male and female categories alike, the champions will walk away with $1 million each, while runners-up will collect a handsome $600,000. Third-place finishers will not leave empty-handed either, securing $400,000 in cash. Additionally, trophies will be presented to teams finishing in the top three positions, ensuring lasting recognition for their efforts on the field.
This year’s tournament boasts an impressive roster of corporate and community backing. Confirmed participants include teams from the Government of Guyana, Linden Electricity Company Inc., Kwakwani Electricity Company, Guyana Tourism Authority, Guyana Beverage Inc., SM Swamy Logistics, McRae Supermarket, Blue Springs Water, Massive Hotel Inc., Banks DIH (Linden), Otis Logistics, and Shanghai.

They will be joined by formidable softball giants representing communities including Aroima, Hururu, Kimbia, Sandhills, Speighland, Coomacka, Mabaruma, Rock Stone, and Three Mile – promising a thrilling blend of corporate firepower and raw grassroots talent.
Once again, the tournament enjoys the unwavering support of Prime Minister Mark Phillips, under the One Guyana banner, reinforcing the government’s commitment to fostering national unity through sport.
Organised by Gregory Harris, the tournament has quickly become a staple on the local softball calendar, drawing growing participation and spectator interest with each passing year.
With the bowl-off now on the horizon, all eyes turn to Kwakwani, where teams will battle not only for substantial cash rewards but also for the pride of being crowned One Guyana champions.
Among the sponsors on board is popular Trophy Stall. Proprietor Raesh Sunich recently presented one of the championship trophies to Lance ‘Wild Pine’ Easton of the organising committee.
Action gets underway on July 25. Fans are urged to come out in their numbers and support their favourite teams as the road to the final unfolds over four action-packed weeks.
