The Kennard Memorial Turf Club at Bush Lot, Corentyne will be hosting an Emancipation horserace meet on Sunday, July 29th under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority with over $3million in cash prizes up for grabs.
The meet will feature seven races with finishers from first to fourth being awarded cash prizes.
The E1 and lower category will be the feature race over a distance of seven furlongs with a top purse of $600,000. Second place in the race will receive $300,000, third $150,000 and fourth $75,000. Entry into the race is set at $73,000.
The H1 and lower class race will carry a first prize of $300,000, while the winner of the Guyana Bred three years and older will enjoy $250,000 and the two-year Guyana Bred class will pocket $200,000.
The J3, L Open and L-non winner, which will all be run over five furlongs, will attract first prizes of $160,000, $140,000 and $120,000 respectively.
Entries for the Emancipation meet will close one week prior to the showdown on July 22nd.
