The National Gymnasium will be a hive of activity tonight when the first round of knockout matches in the goal rich Corona Futsal tournament being sponsored by Hero Motorcycles and Namilco Wheat Germ, kicks off from 19:30hrs. The first and second matches will be keenly contested exhibition affairs before the business get underway from 20:30hrs.
The third annual Corona Futsal tournament, which has a total prize purse of over $2million including two Hero 150cc motorcycles which a lucky fan and the tournament’s MVP will win, will witness the potent Alpha Warriors battling Mocha in the first knockout. That game will be followed by Sophia versus Future Stars, Bent Street against Old Skool Ballers and California Square matching skills with Back Circle.
Fans will enjoy Hairoun Beer special at 5 for $1,000 and Corona at 3 for $1,000 at the Mandela Avenue venue.
The champions of the event will pocket $600,000, runners-up $300,000 and third place $150,000.
