With two years to go before commercial oil production starts for this country, the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has started advertising for staffers for its petroleum unit.
The unit would be key in monitoring Guyana’s proceeds from the production.
According to GRA, it is spearheading an exciting and important phase of its development by enhancing its capacity in the oil and gas sector in Guyana.
“We are seeking creative, innovative and exceptional professionals who want to be at the sharp end of this new phase in Guyana’s development.”
The openings include one for Assistant Commissioner, RS:12 level – Petroleum Revenue Audit, Large Taxpayers Department. In the same department, there is also an opening for Manager, RS:10 level. There are also positions available for a Senior Tax Auditor and Tax Auditor in the same department.
With billions of dollars annually, the officials of that Petroleum Revenue Audit unit will have to ensure that Guyana is collecting what is due from the oil and gas production.
There are several layers of monitoring expected to come into place in relation to oil production, with GRA expected to play a key role.
