Former policeman, Paul Watson, was refused bail yesterday on a charge which alleged that he obtained money from a man by pretending he could get him a firearm license.
Gouiand Sundar allegedly paid Watson $790,000 to obtain the document for him.
Watson, 40, a father of three, of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly and pleaded not guilty to the offence which allegedly occurred between March 1, 2015 and June 12, 2017. The Police Prosecutor opposed to bail for Watson citing that he has pending matters of a similar nature.
Watson who was represented by Attorney-at-Law Bernard DaSilva will make another court appearance on July 14.
