GCA’s USACA Guyana tour…DCC hands Americans first defeat as USACA’s U-17 beaten by 6-wkts

between National U-17 batsmen Alphius Bookie and Sachin Singh spearheaded DCC to a comprehensive six-wicket win over USACA’s U-17s in a day-night fixture of GCA’s USACA’s Guyana tour on Wednesday night at the DCC ground to hand the Americans their first loss in three games.
Beaton had 3-7 from seven overs and got support from National U-17 left-arm spinner Ashmead Nedd (2-12) as the Tourists fell for 97 in 34 overs in game reduced to 35 overs due to seepage under the covers.
All-rounder Pradeep Ravi was the only batsman to reach double figures with a 69-ball 38 decorated with two sixes and a four.
DCC in reply reached 98-4 from 18.1 overs on small ground as the left-handed Singh faced 57 balls in an unbeaten 27 with just two boundaries, while the more confident looking Bookie reached the fence three times and cleared it once in his 26 which lasted 46 balls.
The hosts invited the visitors to bat on a two-paced track with plenty of assistance for the spinners and the Queenstown lads struck with just five runs on the board when Rutik Chundrui attempted a suicidal single and was run out for duck.

that did not turn from Beaton, who opened the bowling, and was stumped by Robin Williams. Stanley with scores of 55 not out in the first match and an even 100 in the second, only managed three on Wednesday and was the key wicket for DCC.
After Srindhi Ragshavendran (6) was removed at 20-3 by Beaton, who bowled with impeccable control, only Ravi, who hit the first boundary of the innings in the 17th over when he dumped Osaffa Green over mid-wicket for six, offered any resistance before rain stopped play at 40-5 in 17 overs.
After a delay of 25 minutes, play resumed under lights, the first time the Americans were playing cricket at night. After Nedd had Akul Gupta (3) stumped at 61-6, Ravi deposited Juspice Jones for a massive six before being bowled by pacer Dequan Bamfield at 85-8 and it was soon all over for the boys in Red, Blue and White.
Williams was LBW to Chundrui off the first ball of the run chase but Bookie and Singh steadied the ship with the right-handed Bookie dominating the partnership. He cut Esuan Blair imperiously to the point boundary, pulled him for six and muscled the pacer past mid-on for four in an over which cost 14.
A packed DCC watched under a cloudy night sky in cool conditions as Bookie hammered Ravi for four and used his feet sweetly to caress off-spinner Dwayne Dick all along the ground to long-on for four more.
Bookie hit Ravi to mid-off at 50-2, while Raymond Perez, who was dropped on zero off Dick, hit Atul Iyer into the yard over the road behind the northern sightscreen before he was sent packing by Iyer at 70-3.
Nedd (6) got off the mark with a six but was bowled by Gupta, while Singh remained to the end to break the USACA’s winning streak.
Meanwhile, at the Malteenoes ground, the USACA’s U-14s crushed MSC by 66 runs in a rain affected contest which was reduced to a T20.
Isaiah scored 54 to lead the US side to 118 in 19.5 overs before dismissing the hosts for 54 as Adithya Sharma and Yash Kanguru had three wickets each, while Aniruddha Immanuel took two.
