-Action continues tomorrow night
In an unprecedented move, opening night of the East Coast ‘Guinness’ Greatest of the
Streets’ Competition kicked off with a record fifteen matches being played, at the Haslington Market Tarmac.
Played before a large crowd, the night saw Beterverwagting ‘A’ become one of the early casualties when they fell to Top7, 2-1 in penalty kicks after regulation time failed to divide a 1-1 stalemate.
Nabaclis were another regular to be eliminated when they were edged 1-0 by Lusignan Prison.
The winning team will take home $250,000 and the Championship trophy along with the right to represent the zone at the National Playoffs in June that will feature teams from each leg, while the second, third and fourth placed finishers receive $150,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
