Lethal forward and Captain of Martinique’s national team, Kevin Parsemain, speaking with the media
after they touched down at the Eugene F. Correira International Airport at Ogle ECD yesterday afternoon stated that tonight’s match against Guyana’s Golden Jaguars is very important for his nation.
Parsemain who has scored a total of 24 goals in 38 appearances for Les Matinino was not too bothered by his side’s loss to Barbados on Sunday night last in Barbados but noted that they have to be prepared for the challenge the Golden Jaguars would bring to the pitch tonight.
He noted that when the two nations met in 2012, the Guyana team was a very good one that was strong in technique, pointing out that they would have to be at a good level in order to get a good result here.
”We lost against Barbados so we have to prove to our country that we are still here and we are still ready for the Gold Cup.”
Parsemain noted that the matches against Barbados and Guyana are very important since both nations presents a brand of football that is very physical, similar to what they would expect at the Gold Cup.
”Those types of games in the Caribbean are very important, it’s always a competition because all teams want to show they have a place in the Caribbean so we know those games are going to be important and make well prepared for the Gold Cup.”
The former Seattle Sounders forward who also played in France and now ply’s hi trade with home team Golden Lions said that playing two high quality matches in two days is just what they would have required.
”It’s definitely a good thing because you need to be prepared, I think all the teams

wants to have good games and Guyana is a good game, Barbados was tough last night (Sunday) but we have 20 players so we going to make changes and everybody will have some playing time.”
