Mc Gowan defeated Yakusari by eight wickets when the Ministry of Education/ National Sports Commission Al Sport and Tour promotions Primary Schools Windball tournament continued recently in Berbice.
Playing in the Central Corentyne Zone, Yakusari batted first in the male division and managed 34 with Vishwoonauth Mangru scoring 10; Abdul Mohamed took 3-7. Mc Gowan responded with 43-2; Mohamed made 11.
Auchlyne beat Alness by nine runs. Auchlyne got to 38-1, taking first strike. Dion Schuiers made 14 and Stephens 12. Alness were limited to 29-2 in reply.
Kildonan got the better of Johanna by nine wickets. Johanna scored 73-3, batting first. Parsham Singh cracked 20 and Karamchand Bhola 18; Kildonan responded with 74-1. Samuels struck 30 and Randy George 29.
Johanna rebounded to beat Mikiburi by three runs. Johanna took first turn at the crease and posted 46-3 with Yashwant Gobin getting 16 and Joshua Ramjeet 11. Rickie Bissoon took two wickets. Mikiburi responded with 43-2. Bissoon slammed 25 and Emmanuel Gaindilall 10; Karamchand Bhola snared two wickets.
In the lone girls game played Kildonan and Mc Gowan played to a tie both schools scoring 36.
The tournament continues tomorrow.
