New air service to operate between Suriname, Guyana and Barbados

Guyanese in Suriname and those who wish to visit Barbados now have an additional option in airline travel.
“Fly All Ways”, a Suriname airline, has been granted approval by the Government of Guyana to land here from Paramaribo and also to fly to Barbados.
The carrier is expected to make its inaugural flight to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, on August 9 and then it will head to Grantley Adams International Airport, Bridgetown. The aircraft will return to Guyana from Barbados and then to Suriname.
Ronald Sahtoe, consultant for the carrier, said that the airline is scheduled to operate twice a week in Guyana. He explained that the company has two Fokker 70 jet aircraft and both are 80-seaters.
Sahtoe said that after the first month, the company will extend its flights to three times per week and later—to other destinations.
“We were doing only charter, but now we are scheduled to operate from Paramaribo to Georgetown and Barbados twice a week,” the airline consultant said.
“The jets are manufactured in Holland by the Fokker Company. They are very good quality, very safe and comfortable. The space between each seat is about 40 cm, so you have enough space to relax and stretch your legs,” Sahtoe explained.
He added that Fly All Ways jets are about 30 minutes faster than some of the aircraft in Guyana, so passengers can reach to their destination quicker and safer.
The airline was established two years ago by Amichand Jhauw.
