Royal Control, Bridal Stone Corner shines on damp day at Alness race track

Royal Control took control of things to run away with two races when the Alness Turf Club held the Marcel and Lillian Crawford memorial horserace meet on Sunday last at the club track Alness Corentyne Berbice.

The successful day of racing saw Royal Control winning the L class and the K class races.
However, the feature H and lower event was won by Bridal Stone Corner from Mansoon in a one and two for the Crawford stable.
The Rock was too strong for the rest of the field as it rocked away in murky conditions to take top honours in the event for two year old animals.
Sand Fly stung its opponents before flying away with first place in the event for unclassified animals to round out the winners.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee would will like to take the opportunity to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the below sponsors, the members of the public and the various media houses in Guyana who contributed in one way or the other in making a success.

According to coordinator Marcel Crawford Jr, despite the inclement weather the activity came off incident free. The committee would also like to say a special thanks to the police and to all for their support and look forward for their continued patronage for the next race meet in October.
