Woodpecker Products Ltd Junior National Squash Championships 2016 underway
The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) in collaboration with its corporate sponsor Digicel will hold its second junior tournament for 2016, the Woodpecker Products Ltd Junior National Squash Championships at the Georgetown Club Inc courts.
Players will vie to be crowned national champions in their respective age groups. Categories to be contested are Boys Under 9, Boys Under 11,13 Intermediate, Boys & Girls Under 11, Boys & Girls Under 13, Boys & Girls Under 15, Boys & Girls Under 17 and Boys & Girls Under 19. All of the country’s top junior racquets wielders have been training extremely hard over the last few weeks in preparation for these championships.
The GSA will use the results of this tournament to select its team to participate in the Junior Caribbean Squash Championships which will be held in Cayman Islands from July 14 – 24, 2016. Guyana is the eleven times defending Overall Junior team champions.
Action commenced at 6:00pm yesterday and the tournament concludes on Sunday.
