Leonora overcome Zeeburg by eight wickets
Leonora defeated Zeeburg by eight wickets when the West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) 40-over tournament continued recently.
Zeeburg batted first and were sent packing for 83 in 24 overs. G. Narine made 16; R. Rahaman claimed 5-7 and H. Kowlessar 4-20.
Leonora replied with 84-2 in 12.2 overs. P. Persaud scored 38; G. Narine took 2-12. Meten-Meer-Zorg beat Zeelugt in their encounter.
Meanwhile, the WDCA T20 competition will commence shortly. Tuschen will play Winsor Forest, Culture B will take on Christ Ambassador, Zeelugt will match skills with Leonora, Wales CDC will entertain Intruders, Zeeburg will tackle Rising Star, Jasper United will face MC Gill, Vulture will battle Supreme, Malvern will clash with Western United, Brave Heart will challenge Invaders, Mc Gill will take on Meten-Meer-Zorg, Independence B will play Sapit, Independence A will battle All Youhts and Cornelia Ida will engage All Youths.
