— claims to have dismantled tactical operation
The Government of Venezuela is convinced that measures are afoot to overthrow it.
In this regard the Government through its Embassy has circulated a communiqué detailing what it believes are the unfolding plans to “overthrow the legitimate Government of President Nicolas Maduro.”
In an accompanying missive, Ambassador Reina M. Arratai D. of the Bolivian Republic of Venezuela located here in Guyana, said that the intent of circulating the document is “to show the world the continuous and planned manner in which this coup plot has been carried out.”
And it is believed that the plot is one being orchestrated not only by opposition forces but with the support of powerful international players. At least this is based on the information coming out from the Embassy.
It was stressed by the local Embassy that Venezuela denounces the continued coup attempt against the Bolivarian Government. Efforts were made to pinpoint the opposing players including the Venezuelan rightwing opposition and named international allies.
Outlining the potentially crippling steps that constitute what was described as the “continued coup attempt”, the information seen by this publication details strategies such as a Terrorist Plan being dubbed “The Exit”; a Media War characterized by a media campaign against Venezuela; an Economic War whereby there is hoarding/shortages of food and medicines; a Rightwing agreement for Government transition; “Jerico” a tactical Military Operation; and international interference in the Venezuelan International Affairs.
The Government of the neighbouring territory is therefore convinced that there are multiple purposes for the forgoing strategies which will not only help to overthrow it but even more worrying to assassinate President Maduro too.
It is also believed that there will be attacks on civilians even as efforts are made to provoke chaos and massive social disruption thereby creating conditions for international intervention in the Spanish-speaking South American country.
According to the information reaching this publication from the local Embassy, the ‘Jerico Operation’ led by active and retired members of the Bolivian National Armed Forces and members of the Opposition was disrupted and dismantled early last month (February 11 and 12, 2015).
It was revealed that the plot was intended at bombing and attacking targets including offices of the executive, legislature, judiciary and the media “not caring for the loss of civilian and military lives that would have resulted from those attacks.”
The dismantling of the tactical operation was credited to the “joint action by young officers of the motherland, youth in suburbs, organs of intelligence and counterintelligence and security.”
Because of the collaborative effort several involved in the tactical operation have since been imprisoned and investigations are reportedly ongoing to disrupt other plans aimed at bringing down the Government.
It is believed that some of those involved in the coup attempt had previously carried out similar operations.
The ultimate goal of the coup plot, the Venezuelan Government believes, is to deploy a de facto Government by the use of force and violence with the support of national and international rightwing sectors.
This approach, it believes, will lend to the breakdown of democracy in Venezuela and the resources belonging to the nation.
Sharing what it believes is extensive proof of interference aimed at destabilizing sectors in Venezuela, the Government is certain that the “firm objective is to break the constitutional order of the country.”
It is insisting that the situation is one that calls for “an open and global analysis at a series of events and actors, which have developed and are present in multiple places, exercising their joint efforts…”
