Kaieteur News – Shemar Smith, called “Short Man,” a 23-year-old welder of Adventure, Essequibo Coast, was charged with the offence of Manslaughter, contrary to Section 94 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
The charge was laid in relation to the death of Aarif Azeez, which occurred on Monday April 6, 2026, at Hot and Cold Lake, Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast.
He appeared on Friday April 17, 2026, at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Ravindra Mohabir, where he was not allowed to plead. Bail was granted in the sum of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($750,000 GYD). The matter was adjourned to April 30, 2026.
