Kaieteur News – Police in Regional Division 4 ‘C’ are investigating an alleged robbery under arms which occurred on Saturday night at Melanie Public Road, East Coast Demerara
The victim has been identified as a 43-year-old self-employed man of Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was riding his motorcycle when he observed two motorcycles behind him from the vicinity of the Lusignan traffic light. Upon reaching Melanie Cinema Road and turning into the road, the suspects reportedly followed him.
Further enquiries disclosed that the suspects rode up alongside the victim and caused him to fall with his motorcycle. One of the suspects then allegedly pulled what appears to be a handgun from his waist and pointed it at the victim, while the others relieved him of his wedding ring, a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra cellular phone, $60,000 Guyana currency and his black XR motorcycle bearing registration number CR 6379.
The suspects, who were reportedly masked and clad in dark clothing, then rode away in a southerly direction and made good their escape. CCTV cameras were observed along the route and will be reviewed as part of the investigation. The suspects, who are presently at large, are being sought as investigations continue.
