The 2011 Tenelec Inc. First Division 50-over Round Robin cricket competition in Berbice continued last Sunday with many outstanding performances.
Ralph Ogle was the backbone of the West Berbice innings, slamming 95 (10×4 4×6) to steer them to 211 for 8 in their 45 overs, against Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets.
However after Rose Hall in replying had slipped to 49 for 3, former Berbice Under-19 cricketer Khemraj Mahadeo, batting with a swollen face after being hit by a ball, nevertheless came to rescue, firstly putting on 112 for the 4th wicket with former Berbice Under-19 captain Rajiv Ivan (42) and going on to make 85 (11 fours) to steer Rose Hall to 215 for 7 in 38.4 overs.
Thanks to Rocky Beepat 81 (6×4 4×6), national opening batsman Richard Ramdeen 66 (9×4), Berbice Undr-19 allrounder Kevin Ramdeen 51 (6×4 3×6) and 14 year-old Guyana Under-15 batsman Shimron Hetmyer 44 (6×4 1×6) Young Warriors were able to amass 297 in 41.3 overs against Memorex Bermine which team could only respond with 219 in 37.1 Overs with former Guyana Under-19 cricketer Eugene La Fleur and Stephen Latcha scoring half centuries.
Former Berbice Under-19 pacer Junior Blair took 6 for 51 from 9.4 overs to help Skeldon Community Centre bowl out Port Mourant Karibee Rice for 194 in 43 overs. However his effort went in vain as Skeldon were in turn bowled out for 161 in 47.
With two former West Indies batsmen Sewnarine Chattergoon and Narsingh Deonarine hitting 76 (6×4 1×6) and 74 (3×4 5×6) respectively and Guyana Twenty20 star Jonathan Foo slamming a quick 44 (1×4 3×6), Albion Community Centre scored 252 for 7 in 37 overs against Blairmont whose Berbice Under-15 cricketer, Parmanand Ramdhan, a left arm spinner took 4 for 28 from 4 overs.
Blairmont, in reply, could not cope and were bundled out for 86 in 32 overs with offspinner Deonarine and pacer Satesh Dwarka picking up three each for Albion.
Former Berbice Under-19 allrounder Raid Ally took 5 for 20 from 9 overs of offspin bowling helped Edinburgh bowl out Police B Division for 153 in 34 overs.
Ally then came back with the bat and slammed 53 not out (6×4) together with 53 (4×4) from Shafiq Khan, his second consecutive half century, guided Edinburgh to victory with 7 wickets to spare.

At Bush Lot in West Berbice, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets beat West Berbice by 3 wickets. In the match which was reduced to 45 overs because of a late start due to overnight rain, West Berbice won the toss, batted first and made 211 for 8 in 45 overs with Ralph Ogle 95 (10×4 4×6) and Keyron Fraser 23.
Rajiv Ivan took 3 for 28 from 9, Guyana allrounder Royston Crandon 2 for 27 from 7 and Guyana Under-19 pacer Clinton Pestano 2 for 47 from 9 overs as Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets eased to 215 for 7 in 38.4 overs with Khemraj Mahadeo 85 and Rajiv Ivan 42.
Offspinner Ralph Ogle 3 for 20 from 6 overs, Berbice Under-15 pacer Grisean Grant 2 for 37 from 5.4 Overs and former Berbice Under-19 pacer Raun Johnson 2 for 26 from 5 overs were the principal wicket takers.
At Cumberland, Young Warriors beat Memorex Bermine by 78 runs. Young Warriors, winning the toss and batting first made 297 in 41.3 overs with Rocky Beepat 81, Richard Ramdeen 66, Kevin Ramdeen 51, Shimron Hetmyer 44, Romario De Jonge 4 for 61, Stephen Latcha 3 for 56. Memorex Bermine 219 in 37.1 overs with Stephen Latcha 69, Eugene La Fleur 64, pacer Amir Rahaman 3 for 33, Guyana Under-15 cricketer Linden Austin bowling offspin 3 for 13.
At Skeldon, Port Mourant Karibee Rice beat Skeldon Community Centre by 33 runs. Port Mourant, winning the toss and batting first, made 194 in 43 overs with Devendra Thakurdeen 44, former Guyana Under-19 opening batsman Moshin Perkhan 35 and Tony Mc Kenzie 22.
Bowling for Skeldon Community Centre, Junior Blair took 6 for 51 and pacer Jermain Reid 2 for 41 from 10 Overs.
Skeldon Community Centre 161 in 47 overs with Parmanand Narine 26 and Mark Lionel 22. Bowling for Port Mourant Karibee Rice, former Berbice Under-19 offspinner Rajendra Bolo 3 for 28 from 10 Overs, pacer Manoj Looknauth 2 for 17 from 6 overs, left arm spinner Chandrashekar Arjune 2 for 20 from 9 overs and offspinner Devendra Thakurdeen 2 for 25 from 9.4 overs.
At Port Mourant, Albion Community Centre beat Blairmont Community Centre by 166 runs. In the match which was reduced to 37 overs due to overnight rain, Albion Community Centre won the toss and chose to bat first. Albion Community Centre 252 for 7 in 37; Sewnarine Chattergoon 76, Narsingh Deonarine 74, Jonathan Foo 44.
Bowling for Blairmont Parmanand Ramdhan took 4 for 28. Blairmont Community Centre 86 in 32 overs with Altaf Khan 19, Narsingh Deonarine 3 for 15 from 8 overs, Satesh Dwarka 3 for 28 and Guyana Under-15 left arm spinner Gudakesh Motie 2 for 6 from 7 overs.
At Edinburgh, Edinburgh beat Police by 7 wickets. Police winning the toss and batting first made 153 in 34 overs with Kenroy Henry 36, Kellon Henry 25, Raid Ally 5 for 20, former Berbice Under-15 pacer Denny David 2 for 6 from 2.4 overs and offspinner Mark Sampson 2 for 25 from 9 overs. Edinburgh 155 for 3 from 29 overs with Raid Ally 53 n.o, Shafiq Khan 53.
