More than 25 football officials drawn from local clubs and regional member associations were engaged in a member association administrators and management course organized by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), under the auspices of the world governing football body (FIFA) which took place at the Ocean View International Hotel, Liliendaal ECD.
Activities got underway on Tuesday 5 last and conclude yesterday. Coordinator, Kirk Douglas explained that the course was organized to allow the participants to interact while understanding the intricacies of several vital areas of football development.
He intimated that participants were lectured on such topics as effective marketing strategies, management, communication and fans and event management among other topics.
Mr. Douglas said that the participants have demonstrated an eagerness to soak up the lessons and upon completion of the programme will be required to return to their respective bases to impart their newly acquired knowledge.
When Kaieteur News visited the venue participants were placed in several groups to examine and discuss strategies pertaining to several of the outlined topics. The course instructor is Jamaican FIFA instructor, Howard McKintosh.
