Following hot on the heels of its successful season opening Meeting last week, the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club will stage the first of three Drag Race events for the year on Sunday, May 1, at the South Dakota Circuit.
According to a release from the club, drivers from Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago are expected to arrive for the occasion to race against their Guyanese counterparts in what is anticipated to produce fierce rivalry. Among those confirmed to represent Guyana are: Rameez Mohamed, Motilall Deodass, Aaron Bethune Syed Ali, Afraz Ally and Danny Persaud, Jimmy Chin Konkiem, Jacob Yacoob, Hans Yzer and Oliver Lip Shee are expected top make the trip from Suriname.
No word as yet has been received on who will be coming to represent TT.
Meanwhile, the first race starts at 12:00 hrs and admission is $1,000 with children and vehicles free.
