Volleyball IMC to stage tourneys prior to elections

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) set to run local volleyball affairs, will stage two tournaments prior to the schedule election of office bearers at the Annual General Meeting to be held shortly of the Guyana Volleyball Federation.
According to a member of the IMC, Amanda Hermanstine, the body has given itself a six month period to resuscitate the sport locally and will also hold the AGM within that time frame. They are also due to visit the various sub-associations. She disclosed that in an effort to keep the game alive, two events have been planned.
The first is the Lenny Shuffler all fours tournament fixed for the National Park on February 7 from 9:00am. The event is open to all volleyball players and is a four member team competition.
The second competition on March 13 and 14, is an Indoor event set for the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and involves all sub-association teams. The sub-associations will stage their respective events to arrive at their leading two teams which will contest the playoffs.
The IMC includes John Flores, Lenny Shuffler, Amanda Hermanstine, Trevor Smith and Levi Nedd.
