Surujbally/Fox win Doubles title

The combination of Dr. Steve Surujbally / Maxie Fox easily disposed of Stephen David Longe / A. Madramootoo 6/1, 6/0 to claim the Men’s 45 and over Doubles title last Friday, at the Le Meridien Pegasus Tennis Courts.
Several other performers enjoyed excellent showings including Aruna Ramrattan who moved through the quarter-final hurdle in the Ladies singles.
In the day’s other results: Boys 12 and under- Quarter-final- Dominic Fraser defeated Asif Mohamed 9-1; Ladies Open Singles quarter-final- Aruna Ramrattan beat Krystal Sukra 6/3, 3/6, 6/4; Men’s Open Singles Round of16- Rudy Grant def. Saevion David Longe 6/1, 6/1, Andre Erskine upset Leyland Leacock 3/6, 6/3, 6/4 and Ezra Sue-Ho cruised past Henk Wilkinson 6/1, 6/1, while in the lone quarter-final clash, defending champion Phillip Squires beat Oswin Coggins 6/1, 6/1; Men’s 35 and over Singles quarter-finals- Rudy Grant def. Mario Niamatali 4/6, 6/2, 6/0, Stephen Longe def. Julian McEwan 6/1, 6/2; Men’s Doubles quarter-final- L. Leacock / E. Sue-Ho def. A. Downes / J. Antczak 6/3, 6/3 and in semi-final play- G. Lowden / P. Squires def. Seanden David Longe / Gavin Lewis 6/0, 6/3; Men’s 35 and over Doubles semi-final- Don Singh / Omar Persaud def. Godfrey Lowden / Mario Niamatali 1/6, 6/3, 6/2 and will now meet M. Fox / Victor Da Silva in the final.
