Kaieteur Sports – Guyana suffered their second successive defeat in as many matches despite playing a solid game, after a masterful ton from Jamaica opener Odane Binns guided his team to a monstrous 10-wicket win yesterday at the Bethesda Sports Club Ground.
Both skipper Parmeshwar Ram (78) and wicket-keeper Shamar Apple (50) applied themselves as Guyana posted what seemed like a defendable 225 all out, as Jamaican Jahdae More (5-36) bowled beautifully for Jamaica.

Jamaica would have gone on a runs-spree, racing to 229-0 after 37 overs, after a sublime knock of 104* off 109 balls (9×4 5×6) from opener Odane Binns.

Binns carried the innings from the first ball and found great help in the form of Tyson Gordon Jr., who stroked 10 fours in his 85 not out, as the two openers posted a record double-century stand for the 1st wicket to help seal an easy win for Jamaica.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago defeated Windward Islands by 3 wickets at the Coolidge Cricket Ground. At the same time, Barbados hammered the Leeward Islands by a massive 258-run margin over at the Liberta Sport Club, as part of yesterday’s triple-header second round.
Guyana will look to snap their losing streak come tomorrow when they play Barbados at Coolidge in Round 3. (Clifton Ross)
