– Emancipation Cup the future event with close to $10M at stake
Kaieteur Sports – The Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Emancipation Horserace Meet is set for Sunday 2nd August at their race track, Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne Berbice.
A total of seven races are on the day’s card with the Emancipation Cup, which is open to all 3 year old and over horses, the feature event. The distance is one-mile with a winner’s prize of $1M and trophy.
Other events on the day’s card are the E class non winners and open to F and G class horses over seven furlongs. The winner will race away with $500,000 and a trophy.
There is a race for 3 year old Guyana bred maidens and 3 years old Guyana bred winner of one. The distance is 1mile with the winner’s purse being $400,000 and trophy.
The horses competing in the H class and lower contest will be battling over seven furlongs. The winning prize is $400,000 and a trophy.
Two years old Guyana bred maiden horses have five furlongs to cover as they compete for the $350,000 and trophy available for the top runner.
Horses classified J and K will be racing for $350,000 and a trophy in a seven furlong race.
In the L class race the animals will also be competing for the winner’s take of $350,000 and trophy in the seven furlongs contest.
The event will be conducted under the aegis of the KMTC.
Race time is 12:30 hrs.
