Sri Lanka Tour of West Indies 4-Day Warm-up match Day 3: Visitors eyeing victory with crucial final day looming

Kaieteur Sports – Sri Lanka wrapped up a commanding third day of action by pushing themselves closer to victory going into the fourth and final day of their warm-up match against the West Indies Select XI.
The Asians ended the third day 94 runs behind after being bowled out for 281 runs in the first innings, led by Dinesh Chandimal’s 74.

Guyanese seamers Keemo Paul (3-67) and Nial Smith (4-58) were excellent for the West Indies, who slid to 199 batting a second time after making an ordinary 205 all out in their 1st innings.
West Indies main scorers in the 2nd innings was all-rounder Joshua Bishop, who pounded the bowling for his 42-ball 65 (5×4 5×6) and opener Ackeem Auguste (46) hit four fours before missing out on a half-century.
Sri Lanka had another top bowling exhibition, with Prabath Jayasuriya (3-70), Asitha Fernando (3-27) and Sonal Dinusha (3-42) doing most of the damage.
By the time stumps arrived at the end of the penultimate day, Sri Lanka were 30-1 thanks to Nishan Maduksha who got off to another great start (24*) with a handful of fours while the in-form Chandimal (2*), will look to see his team over the line today. (Clifton Ross)
