(Kaieteur News) – The inmate who escaped from the Lusignan Prison on May 17 has been recaptured. The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a statement said that ranks, acting on information, visited a location at Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara, on Saturday, about 00:20hrs, where Adrian Damder was contacted and arrested.
Damder, who was initially incarcerated for using threatening language, is currently at the Sparendaam Police Station, as investigations continue.
On May 19, Kaieteur News reported that Damder, escaped from the Lusignan Prison after he scaled the fence.
Reports indicated that the inmate was taken into the yard to work, in the presence of high-ranking officials and other ranks. In a matter of minutes, attention was taken off Damder, who managed to slip away, and made good his escape. On discovering the man was missing, the CCTV footage was examined and he was observed committing the act.
He was incarcerated for using threatening language.
