(Kaieteur News) – As Guyana continues to grapple with the devastating loss of lives in the MV Barima disaster, Excel Guyana Inc. has extended its condolences to the grieving families and praised the rescue teams and citizens who responded to the national tragedy.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the company said it was offering its “deepest, most heartfelt condolences” to the families and friends of those who lost loved ones in the tragedy, describing the incident as one that has plunged the nation into mourning.
“To every family still waiting for news, and to those now grieving: please know you are not alone,” the company stated. “Our hearts are with you, and we hold you gently in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.”
The company also paid tribute to the Guyana Defence Force Coast Guard, rescue teams and volunteers who participated in the massive search-and-rescue operation following the vessel’s capsizing.
“To the Coast Guard, the rescue teams, and every Guyanese who answered the call to help: thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your compassion,” the statement read.
Excel Guyana said the tragedy has touched every corner of the country and reaffirmed its solidarity with those affected.
“Excel Guyana Inc. stands with all of Guyana as we mourn together. May every family carrying this pain find comfort and strength in the days ahead,” the company added.
