(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is seeking a 40-year-old male driver from Eccles and his accomplice in relation to a $2.61 million firearm license fraud.
A statement from the police said David Singh and another man are wanted for obtaining money by false pretence, committed against two brothers, ages 35 and 30, of Best Plantation, West Coast Demerara.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were allegedly approached by Singh, of Eccles New Scheme, East Bank Demerara. He reportedly claimed that he could assist them in obtaining firearm licences,” police said in a release Tuesday.
The victims allegedly paid some $2,610,000 and later received documents purporting to be firearm licence approvals, during the process. The documents were later examined and found to be fraudulent.
A report was made on Monday to the police, and efforts are currently underway to locate the suspect, and his accomplice as the investigations continue.
