Govt. to spend $41M to upgrade Kara Kara Landfill site
(Kaieteur News) – The government through the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development is planning to spend approximately $41 million to upgrade the Kara Kara Landfill site in Region 10.
The National Procurement and Tender Administration Board office disclosed that 14 contractors bid for the project.
Additionally, the ministry plans to spend $21 million to rehabilitate internal roads at the Mahdia Landfill in Region Eight.
Kaieteur News understands that these projects will form part of the $5.9 billion approved in the 2026 National Budget for the Solid Waste Disposal Programme.
