(Kaieteur News) – Guyana’s carnival landscape looks a little different these days, and Mas Mani Carnival and sister company, Lezo Events is a big reason why. Founder of Enzo Matthews of Mas Mani Carnival band is right at the center of that shift.
In just under two years since its debut on the road in September 2024, the band has grown into one of the most talked-about names in local entertainment. From its very first appearance, masqueraders took notice. The energy, the organisation, and the overall experience set a tone that made it clear this was not a one-time experiment. It was the start of something serious, built on a clear vision and a commitment to delivering quality at every level.
Since then, Mas Mani has competed at Miami Carnival 2025 in collaboration with XIA Carnival International, securing second place for Best Band, and most recently participated Trinidad Carnival, finishing third in the large band category through its section collaboration with RC MAs Band.
For a band that is barely two years old, that kind of track record speaks for itself. It also signals something bigger, that Guyanese carnival can hold its own on the regional and international stage.
Back home, the response from patrons has been just as strong. Revelers have consistently praised the band’s hospitality, attention to detail, and the quality of experience delivered from registration all the way to road day. Word of mouth has done a lot of the work, and the growing community around the band is proof that people keep coming back because the experience keeps delivering.
Now Lezo Events, Mas Mani are bringing that same energy to Guyana’s Independence Week Carnival with a stacked calendar of events.
Day Break, a sunrise breakfast party, takes place on Sunday, May 24 at AC Hotels by Marriott Georgetown from 5 AM to 12 PM. Early bird tickets are available at US$99. Then on Carnival Tuesday, May 26, Rogue Nation Jouvert kicks off at 3 AM, delivering the paint, powder, and water experience that has become a Caribbean tradition.
Later that same day, the Mas Mani Carnival Parade takes to the streets with costume sections including Frozen and Storm. International comedy star Junior Lee has been announced as official ambassador for all Mas Mani events this season.
Tickets and registrations are available via Potsalt Events and Eventbrite, or by contacting the team on WhatsApp at +592 629-8145. Persons can also register for road band and Jouvert packages on masmani.masos.app
