Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Wednesday issued wanted bulletins for four men in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Dainier Vegas Infante, a Cuban national who was shot dead at a Queenstown, Georgetown bar on Sunday.
The four men have been identified as Baraka Haraohn Bayneuzzi Garnett, 20; Mikhail Mario Joseph,26; Nicholas Daby, and 19-year-old Javon Hodge. Police are urging that if anyone knows the whereabouts of the wanted men, that contact be made with the nearest police station.
It was reported that the Infante of Alexander Village was shot dead around 05:45hrs. on May 10, at a bar along Forshaw Street, Queenstown.
Reports are that Infante worked at the bar as a janitor. The police reported that based on preliminary investigations Infante was at the bar when four men arrived at the location. They started a conversation with two men seated outside of the bar. A short while later, Infante came out of the bar and approached the men. Police stated that one of them pulled out a handgun and shot him in the neck area.
The shooting was captured on CCTV footage. The video recording showed that Infante fell to the ground and started bleeding from the wound in his neck. His killer entered a white vehicle and escaped while the other men escaped in separate vehicles.
Police stated that Infante was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed and taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral home for a post mortem examination.
The police further revealed that through the use of its command center, a motor car linked to the incident was identified and intercepted and a 45-year-old woman of Little Diamond East Bank Demerara was arrested. The car was also seized and is in police custody as investigations continue.
