Demerara Cricket Club all-rounder Jonathan Van Lange in illustrious company
Kaieteur Sports – Statistician Charwayne Walker has informed that the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) executives and members have congratulated all-rounder Jonathan Van Lange on scoring a century on his Regional First Class debut versus the West Indies Academy at the Antigua Recreation ground in St John’s.
Walker notes that Van Lange is the first player from the DCC to achieve this feat and has moved into illustrious company in the process.

Van Lange joined his compatriots Chatterpaul Persaud who played for the then East Indians Cricket Club, now Everest. Chatterpaul scored 137 on his Regional First Class debut vs Barbados at the GCC, Bourda in 1937.
Georgetown Cricket Club’s Carl Hooper scored 126 on his Regional First Class debut vs Barbados at the Mecca, Kensington Oval in 1985.
Sudesh Dhaniram scored 103 on his Regional First Class debut vs Barbados at GCC, Bourda in 1987.
Walker further informed that Van Lange’s present teammate, Matthew Nandu scored a century, 125, on his Regional debut in 2024 vs the Barbados Pride.
