Winners Bladen Hall Multilateral School with ADOS Melissa Dow & Organiser Robin Phillips at the presentation.
Kaieteur Sports – More than five hundred and twenty-five students competed in the National Sports Commission (NSC) Inaugural East Coast Demerara Relays organised by Sports Organiser Robin Phillips.
The days’ event was held at the Lusignan Community Centre ground which attracted Ten Secondary schools and Eight Primaries, with both boys and girls showcasing their talent is some close races.
The final results show; in the Primary schools’ department Company Road came out on top with 34 points, in 2nd position Friendship on 25 points and Helena 3rd with 20 points.
For the secondary schools, Bladen Hall Multilateral came 1st with 93 points, 2nd was President’s College on 71, and there was a joint 3rd place winner on 39 points with Good Hope and Annandale Secondary’s locked in the tally.
Beside the schools receiving trophies, each member of all the events 1st 2nd & 3rd places were presented with medals.
Meanwhile, Organiser Robin Phillips would like to extend gratitude to all the schools, teachers, parents and NSC staff team led by Assistant Director of Sport, Melissa Dow, who was hand to assist with the presentation of prizes.
Other staff members who worked to ensure a successful and accident-free event were; Jermaine Greene, Mia Ritchie, Alex Bentum, Dewene Griffith, Alistair Munroe, Melissa Gordon, Deon Carew and Feiona Singh.
