Kaieteur Sports – Kemol Pickering delivered a commanding performance on Sunday evening, powering The Bishop’s High School to a crushing 74-14 victory over School of the Nations as Youth Basketball Guyana continued its Georgetown City Regional championships on Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Bishops’ Kemol Pickering in full flow against School of the Nations, finishing with a game-high performance to lead his side to 60-point win.
Pickering was unstoppable on both ends of the court, finishing with a game-high 24 points and a tournament-best 18 rebounds to record a dominant double-double display. His all-round brilliance spearheaded a ruthless Bishop’s attack that overwhelmed Nations from the opening whistle.
Fellow standout Eli Archer also registered his double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, while Lalique Williams chipped in with 13 points and five rebounds to cap another emphatic showing from Bishop’s High as they strengthened their title ambitions.
The Bishops’ clinical shooting and relentless rebounding proved too much for Nations, with Pickering’s inside dominance helping his side maintain control throughout the one-sided contest.
Earlier in the evening, Tutorial High secured an impressive 36-23 win over St Stanislaus College in what was arguably the most competitive matchup of the night.
Julian Charles once again led the charge for Tutorial, dominating in the paint with 20 points and three rebounds. Keion Lynch provided solid support with 12 points, four rebounds and four steals as Tutorial pulled away late to secure the 13-point triumph.
Despite a determined effort from Josiah Lee, who finished with eight points and four rebounds, St Stanislaus struggled to recover from a fourth-quarter deficit and eventually succumbed to Tutorial’s disciplined play.
In the final game of the evening, Queen’s College brushed aside Marian Academy 41-20 behind strong performances from Lemuel Wilson and Antoine Liverpool.
Wilson earned Player of the Match honours after tallying 12 points and six rebounds, while Liverpool contributed 10 points, four rebounds and three steals in the comfortable victory.
Queen’s also received valuable contributions from Anfernee Cummings, who added eight points and six rebounds, and Dimitri Singh, whose defensive effort produced six points and eight rebounds as QC closed out the night in dominant fashion.
With the Georgetown City Regional tournament nearing the decisive stages, The Bishop’s High and Tutorial High continue to emerge as strong contenders for zonal supremacy following another successful round of fixtures.
The tournament is sponsored by Edward B. Beharry Ltd., G-Boats Inc., the National Sports Commission, the Ministry of Education and Banks DIH Ltd.
