Samuel Badree endorses IMC Over-40s Cricket World Cup
(Kaieteur News) – Former West Indies leg-spinner and now International cricket commentator Samuel Badree has endorsed the 2026 International Masters Cricket (IMC) Over-40s Cricket World Cup tournament, which bowls off October 17th in Guyana.
The Trinidadian Badree, who represented West Indies in 52 T20s, is currently in Guyana doing Television commentary at this year’s Caribbean Premier League T20 extravaganza.
Raj Singh, President of Cricket West Indies Masters Association (CWIMA) and Badree met on Saturday and discussed the excitement of veteran cricket.

Badree also congratulated Singh on having the global event taking place in Guyana where 16 countries featuring with the final slated to be played at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, October 31st.
“Hello, cricket fans from across Caribbean and around the world, this October, the excitement of International cricket comes to Guyana for the IMC Over-40s World Cup; 16 teams from around world will come together for an incredible celebration of cricket, competition, friendship and national pride,” the 45-year-old Badree related.
Badree encouraged fans also that if you are in Guyana to come out to the grounds, bring the family and support your team.
Singh thanked Badree for his support in this venture and would have been more delighted to have him on the commentary panel for this historic event.
However, Badree will be heading to South Africa during that time to play the annual Legends cricket tournament.
For the Over-40s round-robin tournament, matches are spread across Guyana.
The teams have split into Group A&B. The top two teams from each group progressing to the semifinals before the finalists assemble at Providence.
The participating sides are: Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, Namibia, USA, Canada, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, England, India, Scotland, Wales, defending champions South Africa, Rest of the World X1 and Rest of the Caribbean X1.
Meanwhile, His Excellency of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Dr. Mohammed Irfaan Ali is the patron of the World Cup.
