(Kaieteur News) – The decomposed body of an unidentified man was discovered on Friday at Capoey Lake, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.
According to a report from the police, the discovery of the man was made around 18:10hrs.
Preliminary investigations revealed that ranks, after receiving a report, went to Capoey where a decomposed body was observed lying face up and motionless on the lake’s bank.
Police said the body was partially submerged in water and clad in black underwear. Upon examination, a tattoo bearing the word “ANIMAL” along with the image of a jaguar, was seen on the upper left arm, police reported.
The body was removed and taken to the Suddie Public Hospital, where it was certified dead by a doctor on duty. It was then taken to the Hospital’s mortuary, where it awaits identification and a post-mortem examination.
As police continues its investigation into the discovery, Kaieteur News understands that the man is not a resident of Capoey.
